Welcome to our LVC Multimedia Advent Devotional project, a simple yet deep way to celebrate Jesus’ birth, participate with what God is doing today, and anticipate the return of Christ Jesus, Emmanuel, God-with-us! Each day’s devotional is a collaboration including Scripture, reflection, prayer, artwork, and music. Links below are for 2025 Advent tracks.
Advent is a season of the liturgical year observed in most Christian denominations as part of the wider Christmas and holiday season. It is a time of expectant waiting and preparation, a period in which we are invited to set aside time each day during a typically busy part of the year. During the season of Advent, we can embrace three active attitudes simultaneously:
- we celebrate the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ;
- we participate by responding to God’s invitation to us to join with Him in what He’s doing today;
- we anticipate by expectantly waiting and preparing for the return of Christ at his Parousia, or Second Coming.
