God’s glorious vision of worship among the nations

Everybody Gets to Play #17

Liberty Gang,

Psalm 67 is a powerful song that we focused on yesterday during our Sunday gathering. Here it is again just so you can meditate on it:

v.1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us

v.2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

v.3 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

v.4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.

v.5 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

v.6 The land yields its harvest; God, our God blesses us.

v.7 May God bless us still so all the ends of the earth may fear him.

We are moving into a few weeks where we will be doing a series on psalms of gratitude. In addition to Psalm 67, we will cover Psalm 65, 75, 107, 124, and 136. If you would like to read ahead week by week you can follow along and get these songs in your heart. I will be out a couple weeks in November due to a education trip I am making to California and Nancy and Karen will do a bit more lifting through this series. I am excited to see our heart for God and His purposes grow as we worship together in these weeks.

Yesterday we attempted to stare into God’s glorious vision of worship among the nations. I encourage you to respond to the stirrings of your heart, to the aha moments, and to the specific actions the Lord led you towards. Together with God we can see the nations worship. I am convinced that any mission effort, ministry endeavor, or ongoing discipleship in our lives starts at the place of worship. Let’s all enter in, asking the Lord to give us world-sized imagination for LVC and God sized worship for every moment of our lives.

Let’s not hesitate to reach out to one another as the Lord stirs our hearts this week. We are here for each other and the journey is so much sweeter together. I hope  you all have a great week and know that I am available to chat any time. I am so glad we get to do this together.

My only call to action for us this week is to worship extravagantly, asking the Lord to expand your vision for the songs you sing. Imagine those from all over the world singing the songs with you as you worship. Imagine yourself standing before the Lord in heaven with those from all over the world gathered around you.
