God the Spirit continues to break into our lives

Everybody Gets to Play #19

Liberty Fam,

Many of us can recall times in our lives where time stood still. A marriage proposal, a heart-breaking phone call, a surprise visit from relatives from out of state – these are moments that we can never forget. Yesterday, some of us had some moments like this, where the Spirit of God broke into our lives. There are beliefs, perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors that the Lord wants to transform. Truly, the Lord came to break bondages and set us free. For that good work the Lord started, hold on to it, remember it, let’s encourage each other to walk in it.

Pastor Karen taught from Psalm 75 on Sunday.  I encourage you to go back and read it through a couple times this week. The God of the earth is in control of all things, yes even our lives, and we were invited into the Lord’s reign. The phrase “the appointed time” from this psalm keeps coming back to me. There are no mistakes in God’s Kingdom. God, our God, is ruling with equity and righteousness and He has broken in at the appointed time. God the Spirit continues to break into our lives. May we be the people who yield to this breaking in and give the Lord full control, not holding tightly to our own lives.

A couple questions to ponder for this week:

  • What do you need to let go of? What do you need to hold on to?
  • What areas of your life do you need the Lord to break into in miraculous ways?
  • Where in our community do we need this Kingdom reign to break through?

I pray to the Lord of lords, God of gods, asking for supernatural things to take place. The accuser Satan rears his head and tries to scoff at us, getting us to retreat. The Lord has come into our lives and continues to break into our normal weekly routine. As this psalm reminds us, it is God, our God who judges, rules, and reigns. Let’s remind each other of that this week. Do not be slow to encourage, challenge, and love in ways reflective of Psalm 75. Satan is defeated, Jesus is Victor!

Hands in the pile together,

John
