Get caught up in God’s Kingdom transformation

Everybody Gets to Play #55

Liberty Vineyard family,

I am in awe of all that God has done in and through and among us in 2023, and even in the last few weeks … we had a beautiful time of remembering and retelling some of these things last Sunday. May the remarkable reality of Jesus’ resurrection and the true telling of our testimonies enable us to lay hold of and enter more fully into the fullness of the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God (Revelation 12:10-11)! I shared this beautiful N. T. Wright quote in the final track of our 2023 Multimedia Advent Devotional that I want to share again here, as I’m sensing that this is a prophetic call to Liberty Vineyard for 2024:

“Life has come to life and is pouring out like a mighty river into the world, in the form of a new power, the power of love. The good news was, and is, that all this has happened in and through Jesus; that one day it will happen, completely and utterly, to all creation; and that we humans, every single one of us, whoever we are, can be caught up in that transformation here and now. This is the Christian gospel.”

God is calling each one of us to continually find our place in God’s story, the story of all stories that makes sense of all of life. There’s a place for you. How will you respond to God’s call in 2024? I can’t wait to see what God does in, through, and among us in 2024, as we turn aside from lesser things and allow ourselves to get more and more caught up in God’s Kingdom transformation right here, right now. Father God, hallowed be your name! May your kingdom come! May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Just in the last three weeks …

Pastor Nancy reminded us to embrace the life, light, and love of Jesus, and to invite others into that (and leave the results with God).

Tamera, JR, Paul, Pam, Michael, Don, and others engaged in the vital work of caring for and tending God’s beautiful creation via Rivers Alive, clearing paths, and Adopt-a-Road.

Beth, Judi, Scott, Robby, Karis, Theresa, Faith, Declan, and others engaged in the vital work of worshiping God through the arts in both our services and our service to those around us through music, drama, and crafts.

Dawn, JR, Allen, Candy, Glen, Elaine, and others engaged in the vital work of providing places of welcome and refreshment.

Kelsey, Patricia, Jeanne, Bart, Shelly, and others engaged in the vital work of inviting people to come and see.

Many among us continued serving quietly and faithfully behind the scenes, doing small things with great love, for the greater glory of God!

I want to echo the apostle Paul’s words from my heart to each of you – “Let me say … that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.” (Romans 1:8)

Happy New Year!

With you on the journey,

Karen Sculley
