Our team gathered again at Atria to share piano songs about Sun, Moon, & Stars – this time Karen was joined by Paul (who is done with jury duty!) and Shelly & Tamera (who arrived fresh from an all day adventure getting Tamera’s camper out of storage and towing it back to her place)! Many residents gathered in the upstairs library on this very hot day, singing along, waving sun/moon/star themed cutouts, enjoying the music. It was a beautiful time together and we thank God for God’s good gifts of music, presence, and light – all glory to God!

Kelsey, Faith, and Declan helped pack 2000 shoebox gifts at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse. They were delighted to learn organizational techniques and to get fresh ideas for items we can begin gathering for this year’s OCC, a ministry which Liberty Vineyard Church has participated each year since our congregation launched in 2013.

We had a lovely time at Tucker Park Crossing with about 20 residents, staff, and LVC-ers, as Bart shared songs, both original and covers, and spoke of creativity and following God the Father’s footsteps. God has put creativity in all of our hearts, and when we use creativity, we feel God’s pleasure. It was a really sweet time, one of the most worshipful times Bart had experienced there, remarking that everyone in the room was engaged and “all in!” Huge thanks to Pam for running tech, to Kelsey for coming to support, and to JR for preparing delicious ice cream for refreshments.

We had a joyful time together with residents and staff at Tucker Park Crossing as we shared a set called “Dance Where You Are.” Psalm 149:1,3—“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song … praise his name with dancing.” Every one of the eleven songs got our toes tapping, our hands waving, and our voices singing. Our set today was an invitation to dance and a reminder that no matter what we can or can’t do, no matter how we feel, no matter what is going on inside us or around us, we are always welcome to dance where we are! Patricia, Shelly, JR, Paul, and Karen teamed up for this high energy set on a hot-lanta summer day!

Joy, smiles, fun, singing, moving, and dancing abounded in the Atria Life Guidance community as we shared a set called “Dance Where You Are.” Psalm 149:1,3—“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song … praise his name with dancing.” It was such a blessing to experience staff and residents alike joining in with gusto on each song, giving it all they’ve got (including some fun props)! Everyone in the room responded to invitations to dance where we are, no matter what we can or can’t do, no matter how we feel, no matter what is going on inside us or around us. Shelly, Pam, Patricia, Judi, David, Paul, and Karen teamed up for this high-energy set and a great time was had by all!

We shared a relaxing set of piano songs at Atria LG while residents gathered around beautifully decorated tables, all of the Atria community dressed in white clothing, to celebrate Atria’s 30th anniversary! The staff (Karen, Sonya, Asmeret, Idou, Latoya, and others) worked so hard to prepare this special celebration. Shelly, Pam, and Paul reclined in comfy chairs while Karen played “Musical Memories 2026” (and Paul turned pages as needed). Executive director Rajah came in to offer heartfelt words and everyone joined in raising a toast to being here for one another in community. It was a sweet and festive time celebrating with our friends and neighbors. What an honor and a blessing to have been invited to share music and presence in this special way!

Four of us had a great time together doing our 44th quarterly adopt-a-road (roadside cleanup) on a slightly cooler than usual summer morning. As we picked up all kinds of trash along Jimmy Carter Blvd, from cardboard to car parts, styrofoam to socks, we were also delighted to discover beautiful natural treasures hidden among the debris and foliage. We ended with our traditional tailgate refreshments – Dunkin donuts and a box of joe! It’s a joy to uncover the stunning beauty of God’s creation and have fun doing it – come join us any time!

Kelsey & Karen had a great time serving at Market Day at the school where Kelsey teaches Kindergarten, Graves Elementary! We packaged up 600 boxes of flapjack mix and 600 bags of oatmeal as part of the effort in distributing food to several hundred families in need in our community. What a joy to participate in this ministry partnership with the school, former students, and the Atlanta Food Bank!

Assisted living and memory care residents and staff gathered in the library at Atria, and we had a beautiful time sharing Musical Memories together! Shelly and Marcia served as readers (Marcia’s third time!), Paul ran tech and turned pages, Kelsey cheered us all on, and Karen played piano arrangements of songs from 1913 to 2024. It touched all of our hearts to hear about various highs and lows – discoveries, anecdotes, and events – from the year in which each song was released. Music and presence are a great way to share life, love, peace, and joy with our precious friends and neighbors – all glory to God!
