Eight intrepid souls gathered for another “Casual Strolls at Lucky Shoals” on what was arguably the coldest day of the season thus far! We all sang along to Tamera’s guitar, and a very joyful time was had by all! We love making ourselves present to one another and our community as we do what we do – show up, sing, and spread joy, for the greater glory of God!

JR delivered yet five more Welcome Baskets to the local apartment community we’ve been visiting regularly (55 so far)! Each new resident who receives one of these welcome baskets will find household supplies, baked goods, community information, a QR code for our church’s ENCOURAGING WORSHIP SONGS playlist, and a personal welcome note. May each one who receives one of these feel welcomed and loved in our neighborhood.

After enjoying lunch together, ten of us set out to PRAY and WALK at Chandler RUN, as the construction continues and we anticipate that people will soon start moving into our neighborhood. This month, for Music & Ministry at Meadowbrook, we had a Hymn Sing featuring vocalists Jeanne, Don, Nancy, Michael, and Karen (vocal/piano), along with Jim (talk, refreshments), with tech support from Paul and Patricia. A bumper crowd joined us from Liberty and Meadowbrook as we heard the stories behind each hymn and then poured our hearts out together to God in song, basking in the sweet presence of God in our midst. Jim organized Valentine’s cards (lovingly written by many at LVC!) and chocolates for over 100 residents. A beautiful time was had by all!

We had a joyful time with our friends at Atria, doing TV Tunes with Bingo! Tamera (guitar, vocals, keys), Pam (MC), Shelly (props), Paul (tech), and Karen (keys, vocals) joined together bringing music and joy to Grandpa Gene and all the wonderful staff and residents over at Atria. It was a trip down memory lane as we together remembered some of our favorite shows by playing and singing 18 TV theme songs. It filled all of our hearts with love and gratitude for the warm and welcoming community at Atria and that we get to be a part of it each month.

We enjoyed a beautiful time together at Meadowbrook this month! Peace fell all over the room as Nancy shared songs from her flute and her heart. JR prepared delicious strawberries, cookies, and cake for intermission, and Tamera ran tech. It was a sweet sweet time!

We did our 41st quarterly adopt-a-road cleanup, cleaning up our stretch of road along Jimmy Carter Blvd between Hwy 29 and Britt Rd. We always have a great time connecting while finding all kinds of interesting things along the way. We enjoy beautifying our community and having fun doing it! (not pictured: we always end by tailgating with Dunkin donuts & coffee!)
